Photography is an exciting means to connect with my urban environment.  A series of related photographs of "things" that have been or will be left behind can tell a revealing story about us, our times, architecture, and culture.

I generally find a place to photograph that fits a particular theme and return to it often.  The more I return, the more I see and the deeper my knowledge of my subject becomes.  I find that familiarity provides greater opportunities to identify unique sets of images.  I focus on the common, the everyday.  Change in light,  perspective and the inclusion or exclusion of the color red are important parts in an exciting adventure to create the right image and feeling for the particular series of photographs.

To me, a series of great photographs provides the me with a means of defining myself and my environment in order to create a bridge between the past and future.

I am currently working on a book of multiple photographic themes.  Six themes I am working on are: Walking the Morning Light, Passing By, Remnants of a Fall, Searching For A Soul, On and Off Green Street, and Passages.  Each is a series of approximately 20 or more photographs that tell a story concerning the structures, people and objects that surround me.  The pictures that I've placed on this website represent a shortened version of these themes.
